QuietScribe

Most meeting-notes tools send a bot into your call and ship your audio to their servers. QuietScribe doesn't. It runs entirely on your Mac: a quiet menu-bar app detects when you're in a Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp or FaceTime call, records both sides, and uses local Whisper + a local LLM to transcribe and summarize — with action items and decisions — the moment you leave. Nothing is uploaded; no bot joins the call. Notes land as clean Markdown in Obsidian (or Apple Notes / Notion), and you can ask questions across your whole meeting history on-device. Free during the beta. Apple Silicon, macOS 14.4+.
